Andreas Gsellmann

Andreas Gsellmann.JPG

Andreas Gsellmann is located in Gols, east of Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, Austria. After working alongside his father for 15 years and making changes in the vineyard to achieve organic certification in 2006 and biodynamic certification in 2011,  he took over his family’s winery in 2019. With his soulful approach to wine, farming and life, he tends to his 47 acres of vineyards respectfully, holistically and in harmony with nature.

Well-drained gravel soils and the proximity to Lake Neusiedl define the region. The lake helps to create a mild, stable climate all year round, lengthening the growing season. The variety of sites farmed by Andreas leads to a diverse mix of varietals. Weissburgunder, St. Laurent, Scheurebe and Chardonnay on the elevated Parndorf Plain, Blaufränkisch on the flank of the plain and Zweigelt on the flat Heideboden close to the lake.

Andreas’ mindfulness in the vineyard carries over to his work in the cellar. From Pet Nat, traditional method Sekt, white, red and orange, the resulting wines are unadulterated, honest and authentic representations of each vintage.
